Wallen Mapondera (born 12/27/1985, Harare, Zimbabwe) is a visual artist known for work that explores social mores and societal relationships using livestock imagery. His work has been displayed around the world including Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, South Africa, Spain and the United States. His work explores social and political reactions to the human thirst for domination, violence and cruelty; it inspects humanity's ability to suppress and make tolerable the abhorrent. Each piece is meticulously assembled using materials from his surroundings.
